Brady has been discussing the potential move with Raiders owner Mark Davis for the past few weeks, sources tell ESPN.

If a deal is reached, Brady is expected to have a "passive" investment and wouldn't "have any operational control or authority over the club," ESPN reports.

In March, the NFL legend bought a stake in the Las Vegas Aces, a WNBA team mostly owned by Davis.

If Brady and Davis agree to terms, Brady's limited partnership would still have to be approved by at least 24 team owners.

Brady's 10-year contract with Fox is slated to begin in 2024, but the network has reportedly "blessed" the potential deal.

Team ownership and media employment only affect league policy when an "owner holds a position of authority at the media company and could impact broadcast rights negotiations," according to ESPN.

An 11-year rights deal between Fox and the NFL was reached in 2021.
