Junior doctor pay demands ‘out of step’, says health sec

The health secretary has criticised the demand by junior doctors for a 35 per cent pay increase, as thousands begin a 72-hour strike over the ongoing wage dispute.

Steve Barclay said: “I think for many of your viewers that is out of step with what they themselves are receiving and we need to balance the demands of the NHS with also getting inflation down and growing the economy.” Report by Buseld.
