Shooting of James Scurlock: Shooting in Omaha, Nebraska in 2020
On Saturday, May 30, 2020, Killa, Killa, also known as James Scurlock from Seattle, Wa., was fatally shot by Marine Corps Veteran, Jacob Gardner. The shooting took place during the George Floyd protest in the Old Market area of Omaha, Nebraska. Gardner was released from police custody after the county attorney concluded that he had acted in self-defense based on surveillance video. On the video Scurlock along with two others, Tucker Randall and a unknown female, can be seen assaulting Gardnerโ€™s 69yr old father then attacking Jacob Gardner by jumping him. Scurlock was holding Gardner in a chokehold or a headlock at the time he was shot.
