TNT Mines Ltd (ASX:TIN) has confirmed visible uranium after completing initial exploration at its 100%-owned East Canyon Uranium-Vanadium Project, in south-eastern Utah, USA. The first phase exploration program has been focused on mapping and sampling in the northern area of the East Canyon claim holdings where the historic None Such and Bonanza mine workings are located. In the course of this work, the exploration team discovered that the Bonanza workings, stopes and airshafts were more extensive than initially understood, and have now focused greater attention on this area. Extensive mineralisation confirmed The exploration team observed extensive visible mineralisation throughout both the None Such and Bonanza workings. Extremely high readings up to 42,000 counts per second (c/s) on a handheld scintillometer were also noted within both workings, which is associated with visible uranium mineralisation. Importantly, mineralisation appears to still be present in the workings, with several historical mineralised faces drilled for mining of uranium and vanadium ores identified but never blasted and mined. Detailed field mapping and sampling positions are still being collated by TIN’s in-country exploration team with assays expected in the coming weeks. Location map with previous 2018/2019 fieldwork results. Historic drill holes identified The project claims cover more than 16 square kilometres in the district and feature numerous historic workings including the None Such Mine previously owned and operated by Vanadium Corporation of America (VCA). Many of the workings within the project area are still open and appear in relatively good condition. Over 2018 and 2019, Vanacorp representatives collected 26 samples from eight sites including underground ribs/faces and ore dump sites that returned assays as high as 0.47% triuranium octoxide and 9.21% vanadium pentoxide. TNT’s exploration team has now identified and recorded GPS locations of multiple historic drill holes and vent shafts at surface within the vicinity of the None Such and Bonanza workings. Subject to the review and interpretation of sample assay results, mapping and other data collected as part of this initial program, the company will identify high priority drill targets before determining the appropriate permit applications to be submitted to continue work on the project.
