S&P/ASX 200 gains 0.27% with financial stocks firmly higher

S&P/ASX 200 (INDEXASX:XJO) added to Monday’s gains with the index rising 0.27% to 6757.5 by 1.36 pm on Tuesday. The biggest support for the market has been the financial sector with the major banks all advancing. ANZ Bank (ASX:ANZ) was leading the big four banks with a 1.64% rise while Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) was 2.39% higher. However, the tech sector plunged 3.83% as buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) stocks continued their recent declines. Afterpay (ASX:APT) was leading the losses for the tech sector with the stock tumbling 8%.
