India reports over 1.40 lakh new Covid cases, 285 deaths; Omicron tally at 3,071

India on Saturday reported 1,41,986 new Covid-19 cases, up by 21% since yesterday, while the active cases rose to4,72,169, according to the Union health ministry data. There are 3,071 Omicron cases in India with 23 states reporting the new Covid-19 strain. Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected state with 876 cases followed by Delhi, which has 513 infections.
