A controversy broke out in the Madhya Pradesh assembly when Congress realized that a portrait of Jawaharlal Nehru had been removed and replaced with one of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. The assembly administration claims that Nehru's portrait was moved to another hall six months ago. Congress MLAs did not protest until the media highlighted the change. Outgoing PCC president Kamal Nath condemned the removal of Nehru's portrait and welcomed the installation of Ambedkar's portrait, suggesting that it could have been placed in a different location.
