Supreme Court imposes Rs 1 lakh cost on lawyer for PIL challenging Rahul Gandhi's restoration as Lok Sabha member

The Supreme Court imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on Advocate Ashok Pandey for challenging the restoration of Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha membership. Gandhi was disqualified after being sentenced to two years' imprisonment in a criminal defamation case over his 'Modi surname' remark. The Supreme Court later stayed his conviction and restored his membership.
