UK's May Says Hopes For Brexit Deal Are Fading--And It's The Government's Fault

The longer it takes to find a compromise for a Brexit deal, the less likely it is that Britain will leave the European Union.

That's according to British Prime Minister Theresa May, who has so far failed to secure backing for her negotiated agreement with Brussels.

Some Conservative lawmakers and Northern Ireland’s Democratic Unionist Party, which props up her minority government, have voted it down.

According to Reuters, May reiterated Saturday her hope that lawmakers would allow Britain to leave the bloc as quickly as possible.

Andrea Leadsom, the leader of the lower house of parliament, also said there was a risk of Brexit slipping further from grasp.
