Poll: Buttigieg Emerging from 2020 Pack Behind Biden and Sanders
A new Democratic primary poll may not surprise you with which names are at the top, but who’s gaining momentum may cause a raised eyebrow.????The new survey was conducted in early April by Saint Anselm College, taking the temperature of New Hampshire voters.????Leading the way at 23 percent was former Vice President Joe Biden, who has still yet to officially declare if he will run in 2020.????Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders was next with 16 percent…????...followed pretty closely by third place, Pete Buttigieg who earned 11 percent of the poll votes.????The South Bend, Indiana mayor recently announced he and his team raised $7 million in the first quarter, more than some of the bigger name candidates.????Buttigieg who has an exploratory committee has teased an official announcement for April 14th.????Neil Levesque, the New Hampshire Institute of Politics Executive Director, said in a press release called Buttigieg “the emerging dark horse” in the race.????Levesque pointed out that “Mayor Pete” shot up 30 percent in the favorability portion of the survey compared to their February poll.????
The next biggest change in that category was for Biden, who dropped 10 percent in the wake of complaints from women who said they were made uncomfortable by his physical greetings and interactions.??
