'I Cannot Stand By'": Amber Rudd Resigns Over Boris Johnson's Mass Firings

Work and Pensions Secretary Amber Rudd has given up the Conservative whip and quit UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's cabinet.

Business Insider reports Rudd resigned after Johnson sacked 21 rebellious Conservative MPs this week.

In her resignation letter, Rudd blasted the firings as a "short sighted culling" and an "assault on decency and democracy." I cannot stand by as good, loyal moderate Conservatives are expelled.
