Fort Wayne police investigate shooting on Monroe Street

FWPD says the infant was inside of a car after being grazed by a bullet.

Shots fired on fort wayne's southeast side last night injured a three-month-old.fox 55's jeremy masukevich tells us what fort wayne police know about the shooting.

Fort wayne police responded to this intersection of monroe and congress avenue around seven forty-five last night.

Officers say a bullet pierced the rear drivers side window of a vehicle that was parked here grazing the head of a three-month-old.sot sofia the wound was a grazing wound thankfully.

We are concerned that this would even happen.

The infant was assisted by medics who said the injuries were non-life threatening.

Sofia rosales scatena says there was one adult in the front seat as well as a two-year-old in the back seat of the car and that the shooting is an active case.sot sofia when these kinds of things are affecting our young children it is unacceptable and i think that anybody that has information should come forward and help us out on this one.

Rosales-scatena says investigators believe a prior incident led to the shooting sot sofiai think this stemmed from something that happened near broadway street.police say the suspect's vehicle is a dark green jeep grand cherokee.
