3 a fort wayne councilwoman is speaking up on behalf of peaceful protesters who are still facing charges for the protests that started in may and lasted into the early parts of june.

Fox 55's jentill neal talked to councilwoman sharon tucker about her request for charges to be dropped and a protester who says more leaders need to follow suit.

Victoria hardy says she just wanted to help protesters.

15:57:28-15:57:36"i was delivering milk to those people, and the police pulled me over and arrested me and my sister and my two minor friends."hardy says she's one of the few fortunate enough to not still be in custody, but there are many who still are but can't afford bail money.

I had to pay to get my car out of impound.

She says she received 700 letters and emails about the protesters.and she reached out to allen county prosecutor karen richards to see if charges could be dropped.> 16:19:40-16:20:00"there were people that were fearful and were going different ways.

The officers had no idea who was peaceful and who wasn't.

People were trying to be peaceful and get out.

When tear gas got going there were many who tried to help other people.

I hoping those individuals get the opportunity to have those charges dropped."hardy says she hopes more people in leadership will speak up because people are scared now.

They're scared because if they're holding a sign the cops are going to come and arrest you again.

I have a four year old.

I can't risk getting arrested again."

The allen county prosecutors office says they are still reviewing the cases sent to the office.
