If the state puts butte county on the coronavirus watchlist, businesses will have to take a step backwards - some possibly even forced to shut down again.

And that could hit us where it hurts - our bank accounts.

"we'll pretty much go back to what we we're doing in march and april."

Woodstock pizza is already preparing for a second shutdown.

"we've already started to transition to patio dining and getting our teams ready for that."

Chico city leaders says we would feel the impacts immediately.

"but the immediate impact would be sales tax.

That means a reduced budget, reduced revenue."

Some businesses -- not sure they would make it through a second shutdown.

"it would be disasterous.

I mean their well being, they have to survive."

The city of chico has yet to accept a final budget.

If the economy does take another bad turn, theyll make changes for it in october.
