Madison County Return To School

Madison County students return to classroom.

In two weeks, madison county students will start heading back to the classroom earlier than expected.

Waay 31's ashley carter is live with the district's plan and how parents are reacting to the change.

The first group of madison county students will get back in the classroom on september 14th...5 weeks earlier than they originally planned...parents told us it's exciting news and relieves some of the financial burden.

Students with the last name a-k will head back to campus on september 14th and 15th and work virtually september 16th thru 18th students with the last names l-z will head back to campus september 17th and 18th and work virtually september 14th thru 16th all students will return to campus on a normal schedule starting september 21st.

One parent told us she's ready to get her kids back into the classroom.

"i'm a working mom and it's just hard for me to try to get all of the things done in a day i'm glad they took the numbers into consideration and made a proactive decision to go back early," students who originally signed up for remote instruction will remain online until the end of the first 9 weeks.

Parents who want their child continue learning remotely will have to contact the school by september 14th.
