Similarities in days had southern Oregonians on edge

The start of today was eerily reminiscent of the start of the Almeda Fire and those connections weren't lost on locals.

Today, newswatch 12's josh shelton shows us why some southern oregonians woke up feeling uneasy this morning.

This morning felt eerily similar to the one just 20 days ago for southern oregonians.

Blue skies, warm temperatures and a strong wind blowing from the southeast.

What would normally be classified as an almost perfect day-- was anything but on september 8th.

Jon cordonier says, "i think everybody woke up this morning a little bit, you know, nervous."

Nervous about what today could bring.

The last time residents saw a day like this, 30-foot flames made their way up the i-5 corridor from ashland-- eventually reaching the cities of talent and phoenix.

The almeda fire left many people's homes a mere footprint of their former selves.

Conditions of the todya and september 8th was an easy comparison to draw, but not an easy thought to have.

(take jon key) jon cordonier says, "beautiful.

That's what we all thought and felt.

That's what it's always been now.

I think everybody's heart was beating a little bit faster this morning when we woke up.

It's, it's tough and it's going to be."
