Reeds department store already has a website where you can buy a few items. i spoke with bennett mize, reeds president, about how he wants to create a better online shopping experience.
"anyway we can really bend over backwards" many people are turning to online shopping this holiday season.
Mize says with the new online store, folks are still able to support the community.
"we can now invest those tax dollars into our local community, reeds is all about the community."
Mize says reeds is heaily based on shopping local.
"we work daily trying to help each other out."
Nat sound many local stores are turning to social media to market their products.
"a lot of people come in with their phone and say this is what i want i saw on your instagram or facebook."
Mize hopes to have the updated website going by the end of next month.
He is encouraging more downtown shops to turn to online shopping as well.
"your phone truly is your platform, it's kind of like our menu we hand you.
Reed's also still offers curbside service; all you have to do is call the store and tell them what you want and they will bring it out to your car.
