Here's Why This Group Burnt A Banksy

A collective has burnt a banksy picture to make a unique digital-only version.

The group, calling themselves BurntBanksy, reportedly bought a $95,000 screenprint of “Morons (White)” from a New York Gallery.

They then recorded themselves setting fire to the piece in Brooklyn on 3 March '21.

It was then listed for sale as a Non-Fungible Token (NFT).

A NFT is a special type of cryptographic token which represents something unique.

There were indications that the NFT sold for 228.69 ETH (approx.

$380,000) on Sunday 7 March.
