It is being reported that sources have confirmed that Siddaramaiah has been named as the next chief minister while DK Shivakumar will be his deputy.
The Congress has decided on a rotational tenure of two-and-a-half years for both leaders.
The decision ends days of uncertainty after the grand old party had registered an emphatic victory in the southern state.
The swearing-in of the new chief minister or the oath-taking ceremony will be held in Bengaluru on May 20.
