Cold wave conditions intensify in north India

Cold wave conditions intensified across north India on Tuesday due to "scattered to fairly widespread" snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. As a result cold and dry northerly and northwesterly winds from the western Himalayas barrelled through the plains.
