Mahua Moitra report on day 1, winter session set for a fiery start

The winter session of Parliament is set to begin with a fiery start as the Lok Sabha ethics panel will table a report on Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra. The report, which recommends Moitra's expulsion from the lower House over 'cash-for-query' charges, will be laid by ethics committee chairman Vinod Kumar Sonkar and BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi. The adoption of the report is expected to be a legislative formality, leading to Moitra's expulsion. This marks the first time the ethics committee has recommended the expulsion of a parliamentarian since its establishment in 2000.
