COVID kills 64 in Jordan, taking death toll to 8,372

(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, April 20 (Petra) -- COVID-19 killed 64 in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 8,372 and a total of 2,699 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to some 692,180, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).Breaking down Tuesday's tally, the MoH said 935 cases were recorded in Amman, 493 in Irbid, 310 in Zarqa, 203 in Mafraq, 139 in Balqa, 109 in Karak, 106 in Ajloun, 101 in Maan, 92 in Tafilah, 88 in Jerash, 72 in Aqaba and 51 in Madaba.The MoH said in a press statement that some 253 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 265 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 2,029.The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom hovers around 34,090, it added.More than 649,710 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.Around 13.7 percent of the 19,620 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive compared with 14 percent Monday.
