(MENAFN) On Monday, May. 17 the Israeli army stated that its navy aimed at a submarine which is allegedly owned by Hamas naval forces trying to assault Israel. Jonathan Conricus, a spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) noted: "this is a significant event," further saying: "the vessel was of significant size." More than 3,200 rockets have been launched into Israel since the start of clashes in the past week. The IDF notes that more than 460 rockets have been went wrong by militants and settled within the Gaza Strip. The Israeli Iron Dome air defense system has halted 90 percent of the rockets launched into the nation. Stating Hamas's abilities of manufacturing rockets have considerably deteriorated, Conricus said "it will take them a long time to replenish and that is an important thing for the future."
