(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) LONDON, June 8 (KUNA) -- The Football Association (FA) appointed on Tuesday its first chairwoman Debbie Hewitt to head the English football association.It added in a press statement that the Council will formally appoint Hewitt to her position on July 22, to begin her duties next January, succeeding Craig Clark, who resigned last November.The association indicated that it decided to keep Peter McCormick in the position of interim president until Hewitt's inauguration next year.Hewitt received many leadership and administrative positions in several major companies, including (Visa), and in 2011 received the Medal of Merit from Britain Queen Elizabeth II in appreciation of her contributions to serve the public and business sectors.
