Animal control makes home deliveries for pet owners

Customers are able to place an order with Rochester Pet and Country to get supplies delivered to homes.

You hear of grocery stores making deliveries to the homes of customers, and now, a pet store in rochester is making sure its customers don't go without food either.

Kimt news three's madelyne watkins joins us live this morning to tell us about this new service.

The rochester police department animal control is partnering with rochester pet and country store to make home deliveries of pet food.

I was there on friday when they made their first delivery.

Customers with the store can put in an order to have pet food delivered to their home if aren't able to go out and get it.

Lisa kelley with animal control tells me a lot of pets offer emotional support to their owners during this time.

So she says it's important they remain healthy too.

I caught up with tom and bernie, the first customers who just received a "well it means a lot that we don't have to go out and risk catching the virus and it's good that people in the community are willing to bring our pet food and everybody else's pet!

Not just ours."

Animal control will be making deliveries monday, wednesday and friday between 2 and 4 pm.
