The supreme court ruling will allow expanded workplace protection laws for the l- g-b-t- community the court decided by a 6-3 vote today that a key provision of the civil rights act of 1964 that bars job discrimination because of sex-- among other reasons-- encompasses bias against gay and lesbian workers.

The landmark civil rights law protects those workers from being fired because of their sexual preference-- this will make a big impact for the l-g-b-t community since most states do not protect them from workplace discrimination.
