Online classes and playing sports: you can't do both
School school sports are practing again..
And school is about to begin.
However, online school may hold your athlete back.
News 10's bri shackelford lets us know what you can expecting going into this new year.
//////// the new school year will likely look different this year due to covid-19.
In some counties, like -- vigo, students can learn from home if their families choose.
But... this impacts what your child can do **outside the classroom.
"indiana high school athletic association" rule states that your child cannot participate in sports if they only take online classes.
They require the athletes to be physically in the school in order to participate.
I spoke with the vigo county school corporation director of communications today.
He explains how sports will look if you enroll your child in the online option.
//////// "so if you choose to enroll in that virtual option, you're choosing to enroll in a stand alone school that does not offer athletics."
///////// riley says students could still take part in clubs.
Coming up at 6 i'll tell you more on one parents perspective and what she is doing.
